Directional mode
This is the normal mode for the microphone now, with improved clarity and slight directionality. The front/back ratio is still around 20dB, but the capture angle around 270 degrees which is helpful for group situations.
Noise cancelling mode
This replaces the previous Omni-directional mode. In Noise Cancelling mode the twin digital MEMS microphones subtract, causing distant sounds to be much quieter than nearby sounds. This is based on an old method of noise reduction, used for many years in pilot mouthpiece microphones but now implemented in Conversor HD to provide a deep reduction in background noises (more than a foot or so away).
Boost for quiet meetings
This function is the same as the boost mode in Conversor Pro. Extra amplification for use in quieter environments.
